I visited with my parents and my little sister Elaine a Farm in Klovtoft in South Jutland, Denmark. My Dad lived in that little village 31 years ago for one and a half year. The owner and his wife had been very nice and we could join them when they milked all their cows. This farm is a high-tech farm and they can milk 24 cows at the same time. They own 100 cows and many calfs and they produce everyday around 3000 liter of milk. All the milk goes to Branderup Dairy for cheese production. They also raise horses as you can see on some pictures. I cleaned the udders of the cows. All goes very well, with am excellent timing. The farmers wife milk the cows twice a day. In the meantime her husband puts fresh hay and fills the new food for the cows. Their two daughters clean the barns and feed the calfs. It was very intresting for me to see this. I knew that the cows give us their milk, but now I know how everything really works on a bigger farm. Thank you Family Botma for showing this me and my little sister Elaine! |
