My trip with our school to the Lunenburg Regional Recycling and Composting Facility September, 13th 2005
|
The Lunenburg Regional Recycling and Composting Facility was constructed in 1994 and is located at 908 Mullock Road off route 325, near Bridgewater Nova Scotia. This facility was the first of its kind in Canada. It is owned by the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg, the Town of Bridgewater, the Town of Lunenburg and the Town of Mahone Bay and serves approximately 40,000 residents in Lunenburg County. The complex is comprised of a recycling plant, a composting facility, an active natural-attenuation landfill, a household hazardous waste depot, construction and demolition waste processing, and a municipality collected septage and treatment system.
